“Not like the rapper from NWA” lol

I had forgotten how much I despise fractions, like just use a decimal. if it cant be done using decimals then I don’t want a part of it. in fact fuck division too, I’ll just multiply by a decimal. actually i could do without subtraction too, i prefer to add negatives than subtract a positive.

/end quarantine neurosis

This exactly brings back why i hated mathematics. The problem is so simple you know the length and you just have to divide it by 5. But because its some silly fraction and theres some underlying principle you should be learning you have to do all this ^weird work and stick to all those conventions

I really struggle to follow the way he does fractions. I’m sure this wasn’t the way that we were taught it when I was wee. Why would they change Maths!?

damn i started the video and randomly clicked somewhere in the timeline, and after listening to him for approx. half a second i could tell he is german

check his youtube channel description and its true xD

I got that width of the small block was 1/2 from him reading the question, but I have no idea what he meant by his own explanation.

wouldn’t it have been easier if you turned it into a decimal then back to a fraction at the end?

That was a really bad and unintuitive explanation. I do appreciate him doing this though

That´s a hella sexy accent

Flula is a world treasure

Woah I’ve forgotten a LOT

I know it’s just for laughs, but he should outline what the unknown is and his strategy to find it before he does any calculations. He just started doing arithmetic without showing where he was going.

Yes but the accent is strongly exaggerated for entertainment purposes. He can speak normal English

I became aware of him and became a huge fan during his @Midnight days. (I miss that show so much).

Anyone else remember his epic “Prepare for it to rain bear shit!” response on one of the olympics episodes?

Today, I relearned fractions, especially volume equations.

And I’m 36. 😀

I feel so much joy. 😀

the “L” he wrote is beautiful.

This was awesome.. but… I realized I’m so old I’ve forgotten math somehow.

If we know that the side of the cube is 1/2 ft we get 1/8 cubic feet.

But if we look at 1/2 ft as 6 inches… We get the volume as 36 inches. Maybe I’m forgetting something… like how a cubic foot works out in cubic inches? I’m so confused. One of you young people with a still pliable brain please explain this.

Is this how they teach 2 1/2 =5/2 here? Seems too complicated. The way we were taught this was 2 1/2 = (2×2+1)/2 = 5/2.

So, 3 1/2 = (3×2+1)/2 = 7/2

7 2/5 = (7×5+2)/5 = 37/5 etc….
